She has successfully served in president and CEO roles for more than 20 years.became the first female president and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) in January 2014. Her stewardship of the Metro Atlanta Chamber is to ensure MAC serves as a catalyst for a more prosperous and vibrant 29-county metro Atlanta region, positioning Atlanta as a top-tier, global market to create jobs and attract and retain talent.
Prior to joining MAC, Hala was president of Arby’s Restaurant Group. In 2006, she was chosen as president and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Hala became the first woman to lead an international restaurant company in 1995 when she was named president of Church’s Chicken.
She serves or has served on multiple boards and was recently appointed by Governor Deal to serve on the Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission for Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Hala resides in Atlanta with her husband, Steve. They have two adult children.
